Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell (knee) likely out for season
The Baltimore Ravens secured a spot in the playoffs on Sunday night, but unfortunately, they are likely to be without playmaker Keaton Mitchell for the rest of the season. The undrafted rookie running back suffered a significant injury to his left knee in the fourth quarter of their 23-7 victory over Jacksonville. Mitchell’s left leg took an awkward bend after being tripped up by Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard towards the end of the game, and he had to be carted off the field. Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated, “It appears he won’t be returning for the remainder of this season.”
Mitchell, aged 21, had an impressive season with 47 rushes for 396 yards (8.4 yards per carry) and two touchdowns in eight games, including two starts. He also contributed with nine receptions for 93 yards.
One notable performance was in Week 9, where he ran for 138 yards and scored a touchdown in a 37-3 victory against the Seattle Seahawks. The Ravens, with an 11-3 record, became the first AFC team to secure a playoff berth. However, they have already faced setbacks with the loss of starting tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) for the rest of the regular season and starting running back J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) to a season-ending injury.
