The Michigan Wolverines are hard at work prepping for their College Football Playoff clash against Alabama. However, Jim Harbaugh and his staff are also working hard to ensure that they have talent for the foreseeable future, particularly on defense. The Wolverines have created some of the top defenses in college football and hope to maintain that reputation. Lugard Edokpayi, a four-star edge rusher, confirmed his commitment to the Wolverines today.
Michigan Wolverines Add Edge Lugard Edokpayi In 2024 Class
Edokpayi is a 6-foot-6, 230-pound offensive lineman from District Heights, Maryland. He has a top 20 edge in the 2024 cycle, according to 247. The most enticing aspect of this potential is his length. He boasts among of the class’s longest arms, which may make him a nuisance in the passing game. He is more of a project, but the Wolverines have demonstrated that they can produce pass rushers in the past.

2024 Rankings
Michigan is not as high as you may believe. They currently have the 16th-ranked 2024 class, according to 247. This will fluctuate as players commit in 2024, but I doubt there will be a significant change. Harbaugh and his staff want to focus on specific types of prospects rather than chasing star power. They clearly have no problem putting great products on the field, so where they rank in the recruiting ratings is irrelevant.

Jim Harbaugh is the real question for the Michigan Wolverines in 2024. There were speculations that the program was about to be extended, but nothing has been heard since. The NFL speculations have also begun. For the time being, the program will celebrate the acquisition of Edokpayi and aim to attract more recruits in 2024.
