West Brom players continue tradition and spread Christmas cheer in visit to Sandwell General Hospital
West Bromwich Albion players maintained their yearly custom of visiting Sandwell General Hospital, distributing gifts to patients and their families. Jed Wallace, the Albion skipper, along with Conor Townsend, Kyle Bartley, and Adam Reach, spent time interacting with children, families, and hospital staff, generously presenting early Christmas gifts.
This hospital visit has become a longstanding tradition for Baggies players, spanning an impressive 90 years.
Expressing his sentiments, Wallace conveyed that he and his fellow Albion players felt honored to perpetuate this tradition and bring some festive joy. Reflecting on the challenges faced by families, especially during the holiday season, Wallace, a father of three, emphasized the difficulty of imagining their struggles.
He remarked, “Witnessing the smiles on the faces of everyone involved has been incredibly fulfilling, and it’s our privilege to drop by with presents and contribute to spreading some Christmas cheer. The fact that the club’s players have been part of this tradition for over 90 years makes it even more special. We’re all proud to carry on this legacy.”
Wallace added, “We’ve had the opportunity to meet some remarkable children, parents, guardians, and hospital staff, and I genuinely hope they can experience as normal a Christmas as possible.”
