New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has confirmed the 2024 All Blacks management group under new Head Coach Scott Robertson.
The team comprises seven members who have transitioned from the prior All Blacks management team. Additionally, eight members boast prior involvement with senior international teams, while 11 others have recently held roles in Super Rugby Pacific management in 2023.
Chris Lendrum, NZR General Manager Professional Rugby, expressed enthusiasm about the combination of seasoned international coaching and management expertise alongside high-caliber new additions supporting Scott. Lendrum emphasized their belief that this group is best suited to carry forward the All Blacks’ legacy and elevate it further in the years to come.
Tamati Ellison, the current Crusaders Assistant Coach, has joined the coaching group as the Contact Skills Coach, specializing in the tackle and breakdown areas. Ellison, a four-Test All Black, will juggle this role with his existing position at the Crusaders. The coaching team also includes Jason Holland (backs), Jason Ryan (forwards), Leon Macdonald (attack), and Scott Hansen (defence), with Wayne Smith serving as a performance coach.
Head Coach Roberston expressed pride in assembling a team of highly skilled individuals, highlighting their dedication as they work towards the upcoming season. The focus remains on upholding the legacy of the All Blacks jersey.
Paul McLaughlan, the All Blacks Team Manager and former police sergeant, previously managed the Highlanders and Wallabies. Known as “Moose,” McLaughlan will be joined in a senior management role by Megan Compain, who assumes the newly created position of Commercial Manager. A former Tall Ferns basketball star, Compain has a background in marketing with Adidas and previously worked with NZR in senior sponsorship and commercial roles from 2010-2020.
Ceri Evans, a consultant psychiatrist and former All White, takes on the role of Head of Leadership and Mental Performance. With a wealth of high-performance experience, Evans has been involved with the All Blacks since 2010, in addition to working with Formula One and NBA teams.
