The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed a successful run until they encountered a setback in Week 15, experiencing embarrassment at the hands of the resurgent Buffalo Bills. Despite Dak Prescott showcasing some of his best football in over a month, the Bills’ defense limited the Cowboys to a mere 10 points. Buffalo’s remarkable performance marked a turnaround in their season, while Dallas now faces the challenge of substantiating the legitimacy of their recent form.

In Week 16, the Cowboys confront another formidable AFC East opponent in the Miami Dolphins. Similar to Dallas, Miami is eager to prove itself and aims to secure a victory against its first opponent with a winning record. Although the Cowboys seem to match up well against the Dolphins, they will be at a disadvantage upfront due to the absence of starting left tackle Tyron Smith, as reported by Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News.

Tyron Smith downgraded to out for Sunday - NBC Sports

Gehlken tweeted, “Cowboys have downgraded LT Tyron Smith to out for Sunday’s game at Dolphins. He won’t be traveling to Miami with the back injury. Chuma Edoga to start.” Smith’s back injury, sustained in the loss to the Bills, prevented him from practicing during the week, leading the team to list him as doubtful for the Dolphins matchup. The absence of Smith is a significant blow for Dallas, given his stellar performance in both the running and passing aspects of the game. As a result, Prescott may encounter more pressure than usual.

Anticipated to be a high-scoring encounter due to the potency of both offenses, the Cowboys could find themselves playing catch-up in this upcoming game.
