Numerous contentious calls went against the Cowboys in the loss. Throughout the game, star pass rusher Micah Parsons faced consistent holding without drawing a penalty flag. However, he was penalized for a questionable roughing the passer call.

A replay shared by Burgers and Blitzes highlighted another dubious no-holding call, where a Dolphins offensive lineman appeared to tackle a Cowboys defender. The penalty statistics were comparable for both teams, with the Cowboys receiving six penalties for 38 yards and the Dolphins flagged five times for 33 yards.
