The Pittsburgh Steelers have brought back a familiar face by adding linebacker David Perales to their practice squad this Tuesday. Perales, a rookie from Fresno State, initially joined the team as an undrafted free agent in April but was released in August during the roster cuts. Since then, he has had a fluctuating status on the practice squad.
Perales will now be part of the limited outside linebacker depth on the roster, joining Markus Golden, Nick Herbig, and Kyron Johnson. The challenge for this unit, along with Alex Highsmith, will be defending against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, especially in the absence of T.J. Watt.

In order to accommodate Perales on the roster, the Steelers have released safety Nate Meadors. During the preseason, Perales logged 100 snaps, tallying four tackles and a quarterback hurry.
