Notably, he contributed with a touchdown in the College Football Playoff Semi-final.

Before the 2023 season, Mitchell made headlines by announcing his decision to transfer to Texas, his home state, to be closer to his daughter Icylinn. Despite this surprising move, Mitchell maintained a positive relationship with Georgia Bulldogs fans, who continued to support him throughout the season.

Mitchell played a significant role in Georgia’s two national title victories, scoring touchdowns in all four of the Bulldogs’ playoff appearances. Notably, he made crucial receptions for go-ahead touchdowns in the 2021 National Championship and the 2022 Peach Bowl.

Concluding his collegiate career, Mitchell amassed impressive stats with 93 catches, 1,405 yards, and 18 touchdowns, scoring in all five of his playoff appearances.
