While the Buffalo Bills’ victory in their regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins may not have been aesthetically pleasing, it proved essential. The 21-14 win secured the Bills their fourth consecutive AFC East title and clinched the No. 2 seed.

For Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and his team, the defeat was a heartbreaker. Missing out on the division title they hadn’t held in 15 years, the Dolphins now face a Wild Card round against the Kansas City Chiefs instead of enjoying home-field advantage.

Following the crucial game at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday Night Football, Bills quarterback Josh Allen approached Tagovailoa to shake hands. Tagovailoa expressed, “Always love competing against you, brotha.” Rather than a simple “Good game” response, Allen sent a strong message to his division rival: “We’ll see you guys again, huh? We’ll see you in a couple of weeks.”

Allen’s comment immediately stirred reactions on social media, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter). Most Dolphins fans appreciated the interaction, with one person stating, “This is why I’ll never hate Josh Allen,” and another noting, “Josh Allen, all class.”

However, Chiefs Kingdom had a different perspective. They didn’t appreciate Allen’s suggestion that the Bills would face the Dolphins again in a few weeks, implying an expectation of Miami defeating the Chiefs. One fan joked, “Must have meant at the Pro Bowl or something,” while another suggested, “Yeah, they will be in Cancun together.”

Josh Allen’s Stats Against the Miami Dolphins are Impressive

One Dolphins fan commented, “Of course, he wants to see us again in a couple of weeks he’s like 150-1 against us 😂.” And truthfully, Allen does have Miami on lock.

The quarterback, who graduated from Wyoming, boasts an impressive 11-2 record against the Dolphins in his career, playoffs included. According to The Buffalo News, he has set a remarkable record by throwing multiple touchdowns in 13 consecutive games against the Dolphins, marking the longest streak against a single opponent in NFL history.

In the latest Week 18 matchup, the 27-year-old quarterback further bolstered his statistics against the Dolphins. Allen’s performance on Sunday night saw him complete 30 of 38 passes for 359 yards, extending his streak to six consecutive games against Miami with over 300 yards.

Given his success against the Dolphins, Allen likely wouldn’t mind facing them if both teams advance this weekend. However, a potential matchup depends on the outcomes of this weekend’s games. If both the Chiefs and Bills emerge victorious, Kansas City will travel to Orchard Park for the AFC Divisional round. Notably, the Bills had previously defeated the Chiefs 20-17 at Arrowhead in Week 14. Facing Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at Highmark Stadium would offer the Bills an opportunity to avenge the “13 seconds” disaster from two years ago.

Josh Allen & the Bills are Focused on Defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers

While Allen is delighted with the Buffalo Bills’ impressive rebound this season, securing the division title isn’t the ultimate prize he has his eyes on. Right after their victory over Miami, Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs quietly remarked to Allen, “Four more,” and Allen shared the same sentiment.

Speaking to reporters on January 10, Allen expressed his gratitude for the team’s current position, acknowledging that many teams aren’t in the playoffs and many players aren’t practicing at this stage. He highlighted the team’s inspiration, stating, “We just love that we’re able to come in here and do what we love to do.”

Regarding their recent five-game winning streak, Allen emphasized the importance of peaking at the right time. He stated, “I think this football team, we still got our best ball to play, but we’re trending in the right direction. We’re very fortunate to be playing another game.”

Next on their agenda, the Bills are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, January 14, with kickoff at 1 p.m. ET. The Bills have the advantage of playing at home in Orchard Park, where they boast a 4-1 record in playoff games since 2020.
