According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Falcons have asked to speak with LSU co-offensive coordinator Cortez Hankton about taking an offensive coordinator position.
For the previous two seasons, Hankton has been the coordinator of the passing game and coach for the Tigers’ wide receivers.
Hankton was elevated to co-offensive coordinator earlier this week, joining quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan in that role by head coach Brian Kelly. Mike Denbrock, the former offensive coordinator at LSU, moved to Notre Dame last month.
In 2022, Hankton had an interview with the Rams to become their offensive coordinator.
Hankton is the first apparent contender for David Ragone’s vacant position as offensive coordinator, following the Falcons’ appointment of Raheem Morris as head coach on Thursday.
