Prospect for the Raiders NFL Draft: Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan

The goal for the upcoming season, according to the Las Vegas Raiders, is to resume their signature aggressive downfield play.

You need profound dangers to accomplish that. The Raiders have players in Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, but when opposing teams zero in on the two stars, they need other players.

Although Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker proved in his debut season that he is one of those options, having a rival to compete with him in training camp wouldn’t hurt.

Roman Wilson, a former wide receiver for Michigan, was among the top deep threats in the draft this year. Wilson tied for 24th in the country with 12 deep catches at the end of the 2023 campaign, according to Pro Football Focus.

In the end, Wilson started in all 15 of the Wolverines’ games last season and finished with 789 yards and 12 touchdowns on 48 receptions. Wilson was a major contributor to Michigan’s journey to the national championship and their perfect season as the team’s top receiver.

League coaches and the media also selected him to the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Wilson only had 376 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns in the previous season. In addition, he gained two running scores and 39 rushing yards. Wilson contributed to the Wolverines’ success until they lost to TCU in the College Football Playoffs.

In his four seasons as a Wolverine (46 games), Wilson concluded his career at Michigan as a member of three consecutive Big Ten title teams, three CFP teams, and one National Championship team.

The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024. The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan.
