This NFL coach might return to the Dallas Cowboys as their next defensive coordinator. Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is allegedly interested in returning to Dallas. This may make sense given his links to the Cowboys and relationship with Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy. The Mike Zimmer rumors are heating up; he spent 13 seasons in Dallas before taking over the Vikings.
However, just because the tie was cut 17 years ago does not imply it has ended. Dallas might finally reconnect with Zimmer after Dan Quinn accepted the head coaching position with the Washington Commanders.
Ron Rivera is still scheduled for an interview next week as McCarthy searches for a new defensive coordinator. Also, they still have Joe Whitt on their radar, which makes all of these prospects appealing to Dallas.
Rivera is a veteran who has proven himself capable of doing his duties, but Zimmer has also done so. If Dallas wishes to wait longer than normal to locate the candidate, they can do so. Jerry Jones has stated that he intends to go “all in” on the preparations for next season. They may go all in on Zimmer, who spent eight seasons in Minnesota and won 56% of his games.

Dallas’ ability to reach the promised land with Zimmer on staff in 1995 permits history to repeat itself.
