NFL Mock Draft: The Bills choose Devontez Walker of North Carolina and give Josh Allen another wide receiver.
In each of the last four rounds, the Buffalo Bills have picked a receiver, and there are indications that they may do so once again this April in the NFL Draft of 2024.
There’s a high possibility Buffalo adds depth to its receiving corps via the draft since Gabe Davis is expected to test free agency and the receiving room has generally struggled to be consistent towards the conclusion of the season, especially with star receiver Stefon Diggs.
And the Bills are predicted to do exactly that at No. 28 overall in a recent mock draft from CBS Sports.
According to the website, Buffalo will choose receiver Devontez Walker of North Carolina with their first-round pick. Walker would join Diggs, Khalil Shakir, and Justin Shorter, a second-year pass-catcher, in the receiving room, should Davis decide to sign with another team.
What CBS said regarding the choice is as follows:
“Walker excelled on the field even though the NCAA didn’t give him permission to play until much later in the season. The former Kent State standout caught 41 passes for 699 yards and seven scores in eight games, according to CBS Sports.
Walker totaled 20 touchdowns and 1,796 yards of offense throughout his time in college. Playmaker with an eye for the end zone, Walker should be able to contribute for the Bills as a WR3 in his rookie campaign, much how Dalton Kincaid became Allen’s go-to target in the latter part of the season. That’s the best case scenario for Buffalo, of course.
