Sean Whetstone claims that West Ham has no plans to withdraw their offer of a new contract to David Moyes.
Following their 3-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday, February 4, the West Ham news source announced the update on his Twitter page.
United has lost all six of its 2024 games, and Moyes’ decision to continue on after this season has not yet been formally confirmed.
“Since December, when I stated that David Moyes is 100% certain to sign a new contract, and since January, when his brother Kenny confirmed his brother wants to stay, nothing has changed,” Whetstone stated.
“The manager likes the board, and the board likes the manager, in actuality.”
A crucial decision for West Ham regarding David Moyes
The announcement that Moyes would be staying into the summer, when his current contract was set to expire, coincided with West Ham’s recent victories over Manchester United and Arsenal.
There would be a ruckus among certain fans if the team announced Moyes’ new contract based only on the Old Trafford display.
But, it is quite probable that the Scotsman will remain, and the question now is not if the club will make an announcement, but rather when.
This has been a contentious topic for some time, and as long as Moyes is in charge, the discussion will continue regardless of the outcome.
In unrelated West Ham news, Andy Gray criticized a scene from the team’s defeat at Old Trafford.
