A guy from Wigan Borough was imprisoned for a horrifying string of offenses including child sex.
On Monday, February 5, Anthony Hart, 63, of no fixed address, entered a guilty plea to 25 charges of rape and was given an 18-year and 10-month term at Bolton Crown Court.
The court was informed that, upon discovering that he had gotten her pregnant, he had hit her in the stomach, resulting in her miscarriage. The offenses were committed against a child between the years of 2005 and 2007.
The girl was first sexually assaulted when she was 14 years old, and the attacks continued until she was 16 years old.
The majority of them happened in and around Cheadle Hulme, Wigan, and Leigh.
Hart was also had to sign an order that prevented sexual harm.
“This is a significant sentence, reflective of the crimes Hart committed some 19 years ago,” stated Det Sgt Paul Sumner of Wigan CID.
The woman believes Hart sexually assaulted her hundreds of times.
“I want to express my gratitude to the victim and their family for coming forward, showing courage, and enabling us to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter. A young person ought to have been allowed to live their life and enjoy themselves; instead, they had to endure this horrible nightmare.
We hope that the fact that they are no longer at large gives some comfort, even if Hart’s sentence cannot undo the years of pain he caused his victim.
“We urge anyone who has experienced sexual assault or who knows someone who has to come forward and report the incident to the authorities.
