Inter has officially announced that midfielder Davide Frattesi sustained a quadriceps injury after undergoing medical examinations today. The 24-year-old Italian was not included in the lineup for Inter’s recent victory over Juventus in the Derby d’Italia, with coach Simone Inzaghi citing precautionary measures due to pain experienced during training leading up to the match.
Frattesi has encountered challenges in securing a regular spot in Inzaghi’s squad during his initial six months with the club, accumulating 1022 minutes of playtime in 27 appearances. Despite limited opportunities, he has displayed promise by scoring four goals and contributing four assists.
Following the medical tests at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, Inter confirmed the presence of a myotendinous strain in the rectus femoris of Frattesi’s right thigh, indicating a right quadricep injury. The player will be under close observation and will undergo additional tests later this week. As a result of the injury, Frattesi is anticipated to be unavailable for Inter’s upcoming Serie A clash against Roma on February 10.
