Chelsea intends to use the summer transfer window to get rid of a number of its marginal players.
Thanks to AC Milan, Chelsea has been given the chance to ignite their firesale. Three first-team Blues players are apparently attractive to the Serie A squad, which would enable the team to generate a sizable sum of money for their own spending binge.
With just nine victories from their first 23 games, Mauricio Pochettino’s team has had a terrible start to the season and is now ranked eleventh in the Premier League. Many see Chelsea as lacking inspiration and ideas, and the manager is being blamed for this.
To attempt to make up for their past spending binges, significant investment is needed throughout the summer. Still, a number of Blues players have faced criticism for their performances. Chelsea tried to earn money through sales during the January transfer window in an effort to abide by Financial Fair Play requirements, but their public auction was a failure.
Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that AC Milan has nominated three Chelsea players as summer targets, suggesting that the Italian powerhouse is prepared to provide the Stamford Bridge team a lifeline.
After the season ends, Milan is reportedly eager to add to their roster and is keeping an eye on Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile. The latter, who had fallen out of favor under Pochettino, was strongly connected to leaving Chelsea last month. Fulham, Crystal Palace, and West Ham were said to be interested in signing him.
Due to his native status and potential for financial gain, the Blues are eager to offload Chalobah; but, a trade for Badiashile may prove more difficult to broker. When healthy and available, the former Monaco star has played a significant role for Pochettino; nevertheless, a sizable bid for the 22-year-old would undoubtedly put their determination to the test.
Milan is also considering Carney Chukwuemeka, and they’re hoping that the chance to play regularly under Stefano Pioli would catch his eye. Due to injury, the 20-year-old has only made five league appearances for the Blues this season, which has caused Pochettino to demote him.
Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa was signed by Chelsea in 2022 for £20 million, and they gave him a six-year contract as a genuine expression of faith in him.
believe the midfielder might grow into a vital component of their future strategies. However, every player will have a price in Todd Boehly’s eyes, taking into account their standing under the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
