Breaking News: Swansea City suffer Newcastle United in their absence

Harrison Ashby of Newcastle United has suffered another setback, only weeks after returning from a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Swansea City.
Harrison Ashby, a defender for Newcastle United, will likely miss another “few weeks” due to a muscle injury he sustained while on loan at Swansea City. Ashby has recently made a comeback to the field after missing 11 games between the end of November and the middle of January due to a hamstring injury.

Thankfully, the 22-year-old was able to bounce back from this injury and made appearances in the league against Southampton and Leicester City. In the interval between the two league games, he also participated for seventy-six minutes in their FA Cup loss to Bournemouth.

But Ashby was not present for Swansea’s loss to Plymouth Argyle over the weekend, and Luke Williams, the new Swans manager, has disclosed that Ashby will be out for some time. “He will be out for a few weeks due to a muscle issue.” Williams acknowledged. “At this time, we won’t be able to pinpoint the exact time.”

Following his winter transfer from West Ham, Ashby is yet to play for the Magpies in a competitive match. Although he played a significant role in the preseason and even scored a goal for his team during their friendly match against Rangers at Ibrox, Eddie Howe sent him to South Wales to play regular first-team football because Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento, who signed from Southampton in the summer, appeared to be ahead of him in the first team plans.

When Ashby’s loan at the Swansea.com Stadium expires at the end of the current campaign, he will return to Newcastle and his future with the team will be evaluated.
