Breaking News: Theo Hernandez makes Real Madrid admission, but praises Pioli and Milan

Milan’s left-back Theo Hernandez said that he still has “close to his heart” memories of his previous team, Real Madrid, but he also lauded Rossoneri manager Stefano Pioli and insisted that Serie A and the Europa League are currently his only priorities.

Hernandez recently gave an interview to the Spanish outlet AS, published on Saturday morning, where he reflected on his career at San Siro. He also shared insights on LaLiga leaders and their quest for a new left-back.

In his fifth season in Italy, the Frenchman expressed that he is currently in his prime and feels Milan has become his second home. “Both in terms of sport and personally, I feel very good here,” he told AS. “I am devoted to this wonderful city that welcomed me as if it were my home from the beginning. Everything has been very easy since the start. I have started a family, feel at home, and am very happy.”

Hernandez believes he is currently showcasing the best football of his career. “I am convinced of it. A player never stops improving, but I feel a lot of maturity at the moment and the confidence of my coach and teammates, which reflects on the pitch.”

Acknowledging Coach Pioli’s role, he stated, “Pioli is a coach who is very close to his players and someone who has supported me at all times. He has given me the confidence to exploit my qualities, and I have tried to repay him with my work on the pitch. I am very grateful to him both personally and professionally.”

AS also inquired about Hernandez’s past association with Real Madrid. Having spent two years with the Spanish giants between 2017 and 2019, including a loan spell with Real Sociedad, he expressed gratitude for Madrid’s commitment during that time. When asked about a potential return to Madrid in the future, Hernandez emphasized his focus on the present, stating, “I think about the day-to-day, not so much about the future. At Real Madrid, I have great friends and fantastic memories, but I am a Milan player now. I feel very good here and I’m not thinking about other things. I am completely focused on what I have to do each day for this shirt.”
