What you need to know : Ex-swansea city player heated up That is in the past now, but North End’s number one doesn’t expect the Cardiff faithful to forget his time

The PNE shot stopper is aware of the possible reaction he may receive on Saturday.

Ex-Swansea City star fired up for Cardiff trip as Preston aim outlined
Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is one player who doesn’t need any more inspiration for Saturday’s trip to Cardiff City.

The goalkeeper spent two consecutive loan stints with Swansea City, the fiercest adversary of the Bluebirds, between 2019 and 2021. During those two seasons, Woodman participated in 95 games, and Swansea advanced to the playoffs in each. However, Brentford would frustrate Woodman and company both times.

Even though it is the past, North End’s star player doesn’t think the Cardiff supporters will quickly forget his time spent at the Liberty Stadium. PNE is hoping to build on their victory over Ipswich Town last Saturday, and Woodman would give anything to take three more well-earned points out of South Wales.

He said to iFollow PNE, “I remember every game I go to Cardiff and play!” “As a former Swansea player, I find them to be constantly intriguing. I do find it really enjoyable. I believe it’s a necessary component of the game; the media and others may latch onto the idea that it’s wrong, but if it’s handled properly and both sides are able to handle it, then I believe the game benefits much from it. If we were unable to offer each other sticks, I believe it would be a little depressing.

“I usually attempt to return the favor, but it might be more difficult when you’re losing. All you can do is accept it. Naturally, though, if someone gives it to you during a game and you have a favorable outcome, they must know that I will choose someone else and return it to them. As I mentioned earlier, I believe it’s what the game needs if implemented properly.”

Woodman said, “I don’t really know any records or stats going into the game, really.” in reference to the challenge this coming weekend. I simply attempt to concentrate on eliminating dangers. We’ll look for small details to keep in the back of my memory. I had no idea they were having difficulties; Cardiff is never an easy city to visit. That place is really aggressive. They are having a rough run, but I always believe it’s a difficult place to play because of the size of the stadium and their enthusiasm for the game of football.”
