Nottingham Forest is only two points above the relegation zone, according to the most recent report from NottinghamshireLive.

Manchester United supporters torn over transfer call during Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest - Manchester Evening News

Following the 3-2 loss to Newcastle United, Sky Sports commentator Izzy Christiansen said that he was “quite worried” about Nottingham Forest’s Premier League standing.

After losing the opportunity to pull away from the relegation zone, the hosts were left feeling disappointed. Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest the chance to take the lead, but Bruno Guimaraes was able to put them behind one goal.

In the 26th minute, Anthony Elanga equalized following a through pass from Gibbs-White. Another set-piece from Newcastle exposed the Reds’ weakness as Fabian Schar scored after a free-kick was not cleared.
However, Forest was able to reply once more. On the cusp of halftime, Callum Hudson-Odoi scored again, deflecting the ball and sending it into the top corner.

Newcastle seized the lead again via Guimaraes as soon as Anthony Taylor and VAR waved away penalties. Forest is only two points above the relegation zone and has yet to secure their first league victory of 2024.

Christiansen has emphasized that, considering that clubs in the drop zone gained ground this past weekend, Forest’s situation is “precarious.” She told Sky Sports, “Nuno mentioned there that they created chances, and that’s number one.”

“You have to score goals, and tonight’s performance in terms of opportunities created and goals scored was perhaps inadequate. Perhaps not as well as they should have, Forest missed the mark. Although I don’t think Nottingham Forest is particularly scary, I do believe that their defense is a touch weak, and I believe Everton will remain up since they are a powerful team with a solid structure.

“I believe that Luton Town is a team that has showed promise; their loss to Sheffield United today may give Sheffield United a boost, but they have also demonstrated some form. To be honest, I think Nottingham Forest is in a quite vulnerable situation and I’m concerned about them.”
