Luke Williams, the Swansea City manager, has praised Alan Sheehan’s performance in executing the game-winning set-piece routine against Hull City on Saturday.

At the MKM Stadium, the Swans secured their first league victory under Williams’ leadership. Liam Cullen’s shot from Josh Tymon’s low corner proved to be the game-winning goal during an outstanding away performance.

Williams has also disclosed that his first-team coach was the inspiration for the decision.
“There were quite a few things I liked about that performance,” stated the actor. “We took great care in creating the openings. We made an effort to position the ball correctly, and I believe we did a good job of it.

“I also adored that Alan Sheehan gifted us this exquisite set-piece. The players followed his instructions to the letter, performed their tasks flawlessly, and scored. I’m pleased that we defeated a formidable club away from home with a goal, and the defense controlled the game. They prevented the team from getting too deep and overly focused on defending the lead. We remained combative because of them. They kept us on the field, and for that, I’m quite grateful.

“As head coach, you get to stand by the goal and watch Alan work with the setpieces while you see the players focus during the tactical session. Being present to see it is an honor. It’s a fantastic tool for head coaches to have.

“We have such experience in the staff, and that can win you a game of football.”

Williams, however, has downplayed worries over Kyle Naughton in front of Tuesday’s matchup with Leeds United.

Midway through the second half at MKM Stadium, the 35-year-old was substituted out, possibly exacerbating the club’s already dire injury situation, which also included Josh Key, Harrison Ashby, and Harry Darling awaiting treatment.

He said, “I think he has cramps.” “Hopefully, there won’t be a rip or something like when everything settles down and we won’t have any issues.

“However, what a player. What a teammate. He is undoubtedly in the running since, in the event that it is cramping, he will bounce back swiftly and be prepared to compete again.

“If it’s something more serious then I’ll let you know, but let’s hope it’s cramp and he can recover quickly because he’s such a talented player.”
