Former Cleveland Browns receiver Jarvis Landry appeared to vanish from the scene after ranking among the best spot and hands receivers in football for the better part of a decade.
Before spending an additional four seasons in Cleveland, Landry spent his first four seasons of professional football with the Miami Dolphins.
He was among the most reliable wide receivers in the league for those eight years, with three seasons of over 100 receptions and three more of over 1,000 receiving yards.
Nevertheless, Landry didn’t play at all in 2023 following a single season with the New Orleans Saints in which he recorded career-low results in every significant statistic.
When Landry joined the Browns, he was forced to give up his No. 14 jersey since the team had retired it in memory of Otto Graham.
Therefore, it’s likely that when he expresses his desire to wear No. 14 once more, he isn’t referring about returning to Cleveland.
That didn’t stop Browns and Dolphins supporters from making assumptions about what Landry might be discussing, though.
Fans of the Browns would undoubtedly be thrilled to see Landry return.
They would have to either make an exception for Landry or persuade him to don No. 80 once more, which is what he wore during his first stint with the team, as they have retired No. 14.
