Done Deal: Super Striker finally secures permanent deal to join Burnley

Striker Abby Clarke has left the Everton Women’s side to join Burnley, according to an official announcement by the club.

The Toffees confirmed the news on 9 February, that Clarke, who made her debut last season, will be moving to the National League North club.

Everton currently sit in 10th place on the WSL table, battling relegation.

Proper decision by Everton

It’s important for the Toffees to maintain a high standard and continuously evolve to improve. While Clarke showed promise, her departure allows the club to make space for new talent or bring in experienced players who can contribute more immediately. By setting a high bar for performance and ensuring players meet expectations, Everton can foster a competitive environment that drives growth and success.

Clarke Leaves Everton

This decision emphasises the club’s commitment to progress and maintaining a squad that meets their ambitions. Fans certainly will be wishing the best for Clarke as she’s Everton through and through but know that to progress she will have to play regularly. The Toffees will be looking to better their dismal start to the season and the recent 3-0 defeat to Chelsea will not have helped.

Hopefully, they put up a better showing in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool next month.
