Vincent Kompany is standing his ground and isn’t giving up on Burnley’s slim chances of survival.
After losing 3-1 to Liverpool, who are now atop the standings, on Saturday, his team’s winless streak across all competitions reached seven games.
The distance to safety is still seven points as relegation contenders Everton, Luton Town, and Nottingham Forest all suffered defeats.
However, Kompany is aware that time is of the essence and that games in particular are running out.
But even though Arsenal will be the next championship contender to face up against next weekend, Kompany still believes that survival is possible.
He declared, “They have to maintain the belief.” “If there were any hairs remaining in my body, they would all grab the chance to have faith in what is ahead and what can yet be accomplished.
Everyone will tell you what you can’t do in life, but we should concentrate on the things that you can, as it is what matters most.
“We just need that belief to pay off; we always have it.”
Even though Kompany was naturally disappointed to lose once more, he thought his team could still take pride in creating opportunities against some of the finest teams in the league.
He said, “It was really more of the tale of the previous several months since we’ve been doing good for a while.
“We may not have received the desired outcome, but as the manager of this team, I am proud to lead them. We will not give up and will continue to compete in every game.”
This kind of game requires a little bit of luck and taking risks, and since we lacked those two things and failed to seize our opportunities, it became a little bit harder.
We must continue because the squad never gives up, always puts in a lot of effort, is dangerous, and occasionally plays very well.
“The players are prepared to refuel and play in front of our own supporters in the next game, even if you enter the changing room right now.
“I can learn something from this game, but we obviously want the outcome.”
