Georgia Football acquires a gifted tight end Benjamin Yurosek via the transfer website
Another player joins Georgia Football through the Transfer Portal. Benjamin Yurosek was signed by the Dawgs on Friday. Yurosek was regarded as one of the top tight ends in the nation and in the Pac-12 during his four years as a player at Stanford.
Yurosek was a productive player while attending Stanford. Over the previous three years, he has started and caught 108 balls for 1,342 yards. With 658 receiving yards, Yurosek led the Cardinals as their top receiver in 2021.
Yurosek caught 16 passes for 239 yards in just six games during the 2023 season. Due to a shoulder injury, he missed half the season. He shouldn’t be affected in the slightest for the 2024 season due to the injury.
Given that Yurosek is a native of Bakersfield, California, comparisons to Brock Bowers are not out of the question. Even at Stanford, Yurosek has carried the ball just as much as Bowers has for the Dawgs during the previous three seasons. Yurosek gained 53 yards on 11 carries.
Even before Yurosek made the decision to travel to Athens, the Dawg’s tight end room was full with talented players. Oscar Delp, a rising junior for the Dawgs, relieved Bowers while he was hurt. Delp appears to have an even better 2024 after having 24 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns in 2023.
At the tight end position, the Dawgs also have Jaden Reddell, Colton Heinrich, Pearce Spurlin III, and Lawson Luckie. Seeing what the Dawgs’ offense can accomplish with so much talent at one position will be interesting.
The Dawgs added players to their offensive line after the Transfer Portal debuted in December. Kirby Smart has added offensive weapons like Landon Humphries, Michael Jackson III, Trevor Etienne, and Colbie Young to offer Carson Beck even more options.
2024 will see a fantastic Georgia offense, and Yurosek’s addition will only increase the dynamic nature of the Dawgs’ offense!
