Since Bashir Humphreys suffered an injury against Leeds United in midweek, Swansea City will not take any chances regarding the defender’s fitness, according to head coach Luke Williams.
During the second half of the Yorkshire club’s loss, Humphreys was replaced by Kyle Naughton.
Williams stated, “Bashir has recovered fairly well, but we still need to take extra care of him because he had some problems after the game.”
“We are pretty good overall, but there are a few tired bodies from so many hard games coming so close together.”
Josh Ginnelly, Liam Walsh, and Sam Parker are longer-term absentees for Swansea, while Josh Key, Harry Darling, Jamal Lowe, Harrison Ashby, and Azeem Abdulai are still out.
While Williams claims that several of them are making strong progress toward a quick comeback, none of them will be available to take against the Tractor Boys.
“I arrived at Fairwood ahead of Tuesday’s game to conduct a workout with the fitness experts and the athletes who are preparing to resume their play,” he stated.
“I was thrilled to see them on the pitch after such a difficult practice, and I don’t think they are too far away.
“They are progressing well, but they won’t be prepared to go on Saturday.”
