Man Utd could save £90m in transfers by paying Newcastle for

Gary Neville believes that bringing Dan Ashworth on board might prevent Manchester United from “blowing another £100 million on poor moves in the next transfer window.”
The Red Devils are seeking for a big sporting director as Sir Jim Ratcliffe works to establish his perfect club off the pitch. The Ineos millionaire has targeted the Newcastle manager as his next acquisition, having already signed Omar Berrada from Manchester City.

Ashworth’s stock has risen rapidly in recent years. His remarkable work at Brighton helped them continue to fight above their weight, discovering gems like Moises Caicedo in the market. That piqued Newcastle’s interest, and they have benefited from his presence.

With a bigger budget, Ashworth has made wise judgments at St James’ Park, bringing in players like Bruno Guimarães and Alexander Isak to help Newcastle achieve their goals.

United’s failures in the transfer market have hampered their prospects, but Neville feels that hiring a skilled sports director might change that, even if it costs money.

He stated on Sky Sports, “I don’t know if Dan has anything in his contract, how easy it is to get a sporting director out of his contract, I’m not sure how it works.” I’d anticipate it to be more of a typical employee scenario; he won’t be able to go for free, and he won’t be able to walk out and start working for United tomorrow.
“I’d expect there’ll be some type of limitation on the transfer, and if that’s the sports director they want, I’m sure Newcastle United will have included a condition in his contract that prevents him from working for another club in the same space for a 12-month period.
Manchester United may finish up merelyUnited’s expenditures since Erik ten Hag came has been widely criticized. His most costly signing was Antony from Ajax, but the Brazilian has underperformed. Other significant additions, such as Andre Onana and Mason Mount, have failed to entirely persuade.

Ratcliffe has previously outlined his transfer plan, with the tycoon hoping to bring more homegrown talent to the United squad. He also wants the club to seek players in the last year of their contracts on the condition that they would be sold for less than their true worth.
