The administration of Burnley has apparently continued to have faith in manager Vincent Kompany, even though the Clarets are on the verge of Premier League relegation.
The Lancashire team lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, bringing their winless streak in all competitions to nine games.

IAN LADYMAN: It's sacking season but not a single boss has gone (yet)... and Vincent Kompany should NOT be the first. Burnley would struggle to find a more qualified man to bring

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles appeared headed for victory after Burnley captain Josh Brownhill was sent off in the first half. In the second half, Chris Richards, Jordan Ayew, and Jean-Philippe Mateta all broke through James Trafford’s net.

The Clarets’ loss in the capital drops them to 19th position in the Premier League rankings with just 13 points from 26 games played, 11 points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th place.

After a challenging start to their Premier League comeback, Burnley has no immediate intentions to fire manager Kompany, according to The Athletic.
The Clarets’ administration is said to still support Manchester City legend Kompany going into the last stretch of the season.

That cannot be said for certain segments of the team’s supporters, who voiced their displeasure with the 37-year-old after the team’s weekend loss at Palace.

After holding his first management post at Anderlecht, a team in the Belgian Pro League, Kompany joined Burnley in the summer of 2022 and won the Championship in his first season as manager.

With a record of 101 points and only three losses in 46 games in the second division, the 37-year-old succeeded in getting the Clarets back to the Premier League on his first try.
Having had little success in his first season as an English top-flight manager, Kompany is unwilling to change a playing style that helped his team win the Championship.

The four-time Premier League champion is more used to title fights under Pep Guardiola than bottom-of-the-league scrapping, but the Belgian has said time and time again that there are a lot of parallels between the two scenarios.

To increase their prospects of escaping the drop, Burnley entered the loan market in January. David Datro Fofana, Maxime Esteve, and Lorenz Assignon all signed short-term contracts.

When his side hosts Bournemouth at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, it will be crucial for Kompany’s squad to win after they had lost three straight games in the Premier League.
