Before he could be jailed, a Wigan retiree who was found guilty of molesting a lady passed away.
On April 21, 2022, Ion Curt, 66, of Manley Street in Ince, denied sexually abusing his victim. However, he did not show up for his trial at the borough’s magistrates’ court, and he was pronounced guilty while he was not there.
A warrant for his arrest was issued, however the matter was dropped when it was revealed that Curt had passed away during the most recent hearing.
