Newcastle United injuries: Regarding Kieran Trippier’s calf issue, an update has been sent from the training field.

Kieran Trippier is anticipated to be sidelined for Newcastle United until the end of the month due to a calf strain sustained during the 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The right-back, who was substituted by Tino Livramento in the second half of the Premier League match at St James’ Park, underwent a scan and is expected to miss upcoming fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as England’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium later this month. Trippier may return to action in the home game against West Ham United on March 30 (12:30pm kick-off).

Before receiving the scan results, Trippier expressed caution, stating, “I just felt something in my calf, and I don’t want to take any risks or anything. I had a good chat with the manager, but I won’t know anything until [Monday]. My calf is feeling good, but scan results can say anything, but most importantly, I’m feeling positive.”

Sky Sports has provided an additional update on Newcastle’s injury situation, noting that Trippier was absent from training on Wednesday morning as expected. On a positive note, left-back Matt Targett has returned to full training after a four-month absence due to a hamstring injury. Targett could be in contention for a spot on the bench in Newcastle’s next Premier League match against Chelsea on March 11 (8pm kick-off). Trippier joins a list of several Newcastle players, including Nick Pope, Joelinton, and Callum Wilson, who are currently recovering from injuries and will be unavailable for the upcoming trip to Stamford Bridge.
