The women’s team of West Ham United played their first Barclays Women’s Super League match following the international break on Sunday afternoon, and they came away with a well-earned draw against Manchester United.
Rachel Williams gave the away team the lead after only four minutes as she confidently scored beyond Mackenzie Arnold from the edge of the area.
Throughout the match, there was little difference between the two teams, as the Hammers were unable to get past Mary Earps and Manchester United’s resolute defense.
However, after 85 minutes, the Irons—who had their own opportunities—got their fair desserts thanks to Viviane Asseyi’s valiant attempt to secure a point.
