One of Leeds’ most coveted music venues will host an intimate performance by movie star Russell Crowe.
The film star from New Zealand and devoted Leeds United fan, who recently disclosed his financial involvement with the club, is set to take the stage at the Brudenell Social Club on July 25. He will be hosting his Indoor Garden Party in the UK for the first time since 2017.
In anticipation of the event, the ‘Gladiator’ star provided insight into what attendees can expect, describing it as “an event, a band, a happening.” He emphasized the fluid nature of the experience, noting that the personnel involved may vary, but the scale of the production remains substantial. Comparing it to a festival, he explained that the Indoor Garden Party is a gathering of admired individuals, including musicians and storytellers, coming together to put on a captivating show.
The concept for the band originated in 2009 in a pub located just outside London, owned by the renowned chat show legend Michael Parkinson. Since its inception, the band has continued in a haphazard, ad-lib manner, maintaining its unique character.
“There’s an attitude about this band. It’s got a groove. We do a lot of story songs, but we also know we are here to blow out the cobwebs and give the audience a good night,” Russell emphasized.
After a hiatus in 2023, the band resumed live performances, introducing guest appearances from notable artists such as Michael Bublé, Rita Ora, and RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan.
