According to reports from The Athletic, the former LA Galaxy Technical Director is in advanced talks to join AC Milan. While ongoing discussions were expected, there is now additional information regarding his potential role within the club. Initially thought to be working in the market sector alongside Ibrahimovic, Geoffrey Moncada, and Antonio D’Ottavio, it’s now reported that he will oversee Milan’s second team, a concept that has been under consideration for several months.
This role wouldn’t be unfamiliar territory for him, as, during his tenure as LA Galaxy’s Technical Director, he played a key role in establishing their USL affiliate team, LA Galaxy II. This development mirrors a similar structure in his previous work.
‘Los Dos’ became the club’s in-house development method, establishing connections between their youth teams and the senior squads. Chris Klein, the former president of LA Galaxy, emphasized that the team would play a crucial role in bridging the gaps between the academy and the senior squad. This approach aimed to foster a seamless progression of talent within the club’s development structure.
