Following a car crash into a Wigan GP practice, emergency personnel hurried to the scene.
When two cars crashed on Monday afternoon outside the Pemberton Health Centre on Sherwood Drive in Pemberton, the alarm was triggered.
Because of the damage to the building, all public doors to the surgery had to be blocked off and a guy required to be rescued from one of the automobiles.
“Two fire engines from Wigan fire station and the technical response unit from Ashton fire station were called to reports of a crash involving two cars and a building on Sherwood Drive, Wigan, at shortly after 3pm yesterday,” a fire service spokeswoman stated.
“A man was extracted from one of the vehicles by firefighters using specialized equipment, and they then turned them over to North West Ambulance Service colleagues for treatment.” After making the situation safe, the crews stayed for around 1.5 hours.
Although he was rushed to the hospital, the man was not gravely hurt, according to an ambulance service spokesman.
“Incident happened at the Pemberton site today,” according to a statement that was placed on Pemberton Surgery’s Facebook page on Monday afternoon. One vehicle has collided with both entries. For everyone’s protection, all public entrances have been blocked off, and as a temporary fix, patients are being welcomed inside via the fire exits.
“Thankfully, nobody was hurt.”
Although individuals were urged to check for updates from the pharmacy and Newtown Surgery regarding entering their premises, they reported on Tuesday morning that the entry to Pemberton Surgery and clinic had been secured and was open as usual.
