Their second defensive tackle of the offseason has been signed by the Jets.
According to Connor Hughes of SNY, the Jets and former defensive tackle Leki Fotu of the Arizona Cardinals have reached an agreement.
With his contract agreement, Fotu becomes the second defensive tackle to sign with the Jets. Near the end of the first day of the authorized tampering period, former 49ers player Javon Kinlaw reached an agreement with the team.
From a quantity standpoint, the Jets need defensive tackle. The Jets should expect top-notch play at the position with Quinnen Williams on the roster. Simply put, practically every other defensive tackle on the team was set to enter free agency. The Jets require personnel in that position.
Al Woods, who was mostly a run stopper prior to sustaining a season-ending injury in an October victory over the Giants, is expected to be replaced by Fotu.
He played his whole four-year career in Arizona after being selected by the Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2020 draft.
