Allegedly, Manchester United has extended a lucrative offer in an attempt to secure the services of Francesco Camarda, the 16-year-old prodigy from AC Milan.
Initially, it was believed that Manchester United would fail to secure Camarda, as he was expected to sign his inaugural professional contract with Milan. Camarda made history in November by becoming the youngest player to feature in a Serie A match at just 15 years and 260 days old. Regarded as one of the most promising talents in Italian football currently, the teenager has garnered significant attention.
Besides Manchester United, other prominent clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, and Real Madrid have also been linked with an interest in the young forward. Initially, it was anticipated that Camarda would commit to his first professional contract with Milan upon turning 16, but this development is still pending. Calciomercato reports that there’s now uncertainty regarding Camarda’s definitive commitment to AC Milan.
According to the publication, Manchester United has made a “very significant offer” to entice the player to Old Trafford. Additionally, there are reported “strained relations” between Camarda’s representatives and Milan chief Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is managing negotiations for the talented striker’s first professional contract. These developments arise amid Milan’s potential loss of their key striker Olivier Giroud, who is likely to depart San Siro for a new club.
Internally, Camarda is regarded as a potential successor to Olivier Giroud within the club, with the expectation that he could establish himself in the position for an extended period. However, it’s crucial to consider that Manchester United’s pursuit of Camarda would face obstacles due to Brexit regulations. These rules prohibit English clubs from signing foreign-based players until they reach the age of 18. Consequently, the Red Devils would be required to wait for up to two years before Camarda could join their ranks and feature in matches.
