Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. shares inspirational message before Opening Day

The MVP winner recently wrote an article for Players’ Tribune that made us feel everything.
Just before the 2024 season begins, Ronald Acuña Jr. delivered an encouraging statement, giving us even more reasons to love him. In his message to Braves nation, which was published in the Players Tribune yesterday, the reigning NL MVP let fans in like he never has.

We strongly advise you to sit down and read the entire article if you have fifteen to twenty minutes to spare. We also have the condensed version and important points from his message if that’s what you’re looking for.

Ronald Acuña Jr. opens up like never before

Although it’s challenging to fully capture the poignant message Ronald sent out, the main takeaway from this tale was how hard work Ronald had to put in to get to where he is now. He started out by talking about how his dream was to play Major League Baseball.

Ronald claims that in order to build handmade baseballs and bats for himself and his pals to play with, he had to spend a lot of time cutting up old newspapers and tape. He talked about how his mother was kind enough to give away what little money she had so that Ronald could go baseballing with his pals.

Then he talked about how much he had prayed to become famous and the changes he had to make once he achieved that status. You won’t believe how tough it is for Latin American baseball players to spend so much of the year away from their friends and family. This narrative will make that clear.

The challenge that arises in routine encounters that we all take for granted. For many of these athletes, even something as basic as placing an order for meals feels like a mathematics exam due to the language barrier. This also applied to Ronald.

He then discussed the suffering he had after tearing his ACL, which prevented him from playing baseball. Ronald talked candidly about his grueling rehabilitation sessions and his self-doubt, which left him wondering if he would ever be the same player.
Then, in the last section, he outlines his objectives. Above all, Ronald states that he wants to play in the World Series and help Atlanta win another championship. He vividly depicts the moment the last out lands in his glove and the ensuing joy that takes place throughout the entire city. All things considered, that was a lovely message that I believe Braves fans needed to hear from their franchise player.
