The Aston Villa hero was fast to seize the opportunity when Rangers and Celtic were playing at a lower level.

Gabby Agbonlahor, the hero of Aston Villa, has criticized five Rangers players for their roles in the 3-3 derby tie with Celtic.

Almost everything was delivered in the most recent Old Firm installment, as Rangers leveled the score after a disastrous first half in which they fell behind by two goals. Late in the second half, Adam Idah appeared to have won the match, but Rabbi Matondo curled home in stoppage time to save a point.

Rangers may take the lead in the Premiership if they win their remaining match against Dundee, although Celtic are currently leading by a point. Favorite of Aston Villa Agbonlahor had strong comments for five players in Philippe Clement’s starting lineup after the hosts’ poor first-half Ibrox performance.

“I was shocked by the quality of Rangers’ football in the first half,” he said to talkSPORT. In group chats, I was talking to friends and I said, “The standard!” The mood produced by Rangers fans was fantastic. It’s the ideal opportunity to play your best football—a derby.

“Despite typically being one of the Rangers’ better players, Tavernier was awful. Honestly, Goldson, Wright, Lawrence, Dessers. Half of the Rangers team wouldn’t make it into the championship teams as I was watching this game.

That reflects the quality of their first half. Although Celtic wasted a few good opportunities, they dominated the first half. The Rangers supporters were growing increasingly irate with their group.

“Defective quality. They improved and made adjustments in the second half. However, Celtic ought to have scored four or five goals in the opening frame.”
