Auburn women’s basketball coach Johnnie Harris and his team are still having success with the transfer portal.
Auburn made its second offseason addition when former Texas forward DeYona Gaston committed to the Tigers in an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon, exactly one week after the Tigers selected former Arkansas guard Taliah Scott.

Following a senior year at Texas where she played in 25 games, started four of them, and averaged 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, Gaston has committed to Auburn.
This past season, Gaston—who frequently comes off the bench to contribute—was named the Big 12’s Sixth Player of the Year after leading the Longhorns to an outstanding 33-5 record that included securing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After Gaston started the game and finished with eight points, six rebounds, and a block in 28 minutes of action, NC State upset Texas in the Elite Eight.
Gaston, a Pearland, Texas native, was ranked by espnW as the 20th best forward and the No. 90 over player in the class of 2020.
