AC Milan is apparently considering moving Christian Pulisic to a different position, thus the USMNT sensation may be moving again.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The United States international has excelled for the Rossoneri this season, achieving a personal-best goal tally of 13 during his debut campaign in Italian football. Following a period of inconsistency at Chelsea, the 25-year-old forward has reignited his form at the club level.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

In 2023–24, he has performed particularly well on the right flank, where Stefano Pioli has started to use Pulisic as a winger. He has occasionally been moved around, with some arguing that he ought to be used as a No. 10 who writes plays.

DID YOU KNOW?

For now, the calls for changes are being disregarded, but according to Milannews.it, there’s speculation that Pulisic might be shifted back to his familiar role on the left when the Rossoneri face arch-rivals Inter in the derby. This tactical adjustment would enable Portuguese superstar Rafael Leao to play centrally in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The stakes are high for Milan, as a victory for Inter on Monday night would secure them the league title.

WHAT NEXT?

Pulisic has extensive experience playing on the left wing for both club and country, so adapting to that position should pose no difficulty. His international colleague Yunus Musah is expected to be deployed on the right flank. Pioli appears ready to rotate his squad after a recent run of three winless games in Serie A and the Europa League quarter-finals.
