In the 2024 NFL Draft, the LSU Tigers were selected three times in the first round.
The Washington Commanders selected quarterback Jayden Daniels second overall. The New York Giants selected wide receiver Malik Nabers sixth overall in the draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. 23rd overall.
Angel Reese, a fellow LSU Tiger and the seventh overall choice in the 2024 WNBA draft, congratulated her former teammates on social media. In the run-up to the 2024 WNBA season, Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky and has just begun practicing with her new team.
In her essay, she was rather explicit about the fact that LSU is among the best in producing professional athletes from their collegiate ranks.

The three first round selections mentioned above helped the LSU football team finish 10-3 in the previous campaign. In the ReliaQuest Bowl, they defeated Wisconsin 35–31 to cap off their season.
