To stay competitive, the Buffalo Bills desperately need a real danger at wide receiver.
They lost No. 2 receiver Gabriel Davis to free agency and moved top wideout Stefon Diggs a few weeks ago amid persistent allegations of a falling out with the team.
Adam Schefter reports that the Bills will play wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling in upstate New York tonight.
Former Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling — who recently visited with the Chargers — is in Buffalo tonight meeting with the Bills, per source.

In 2022, he caught 42 passes for 687 yards and two touchdowns, but in 2023, his performance declined to 21 catches for 315 yards and one touchdown.
Despite JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City’s top receiver in 2022, leaving during the offseason, Valdes-Scantling did not step up, with the team instead depending more on younger players like rookie Rashee Rice.
Besides Diggs and Davis, Buffalo’s next most productive pass-catcher last year was tight end Dalton Kincaid, who recorded 673 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season.
Buffalo still has an elite or near-elite quarterback in Josh Allen, but they lost two significant defensive players: safety Jordan Poyer and defensive end Leonard Floyd, who signed with the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers, respectively.
If they want to have a realistic chance of making the playoffs this fall and winter, they need to make some kind of big addition, especially on offense, as the rest of the AFC is only becoming stronger and deeper.
