Nick Martini, recalled on Tuesday afternoon, might provide that boost. Conner Capel, who had seen limited playing time since his call-up, was optioned back to Triple-A Louisville.
Martini was the talk of Cincinnati on Opening Day. His first week of the 2024 season was a resounding success, but he soon hit a slump, with strikeouts becoming a frequent issue, leading the Reds to option him to Triple-A Louisville.

But Martini made the most of his time in Derby City to regain his swing. Despite appearing clueless at the plate, the 33-year-old Marinti hit during his brief stay in Louisville.364/.563/.818 with only four strikeouts, nine walks, and three home runs.
The Reds must begin to post wins in the standings and erroneous numbers on the scoreboard. This team really needs the huge bat, energy, and leadership that Martini brings to the room.
