The British competitor, Emma Raducanu, is slated to participate in the Nottingham Open in June.
After undergoing surgery on one ankle and both wrists last year, the 21-year-old, who won the US Open in 2021, has decided not to play in the French Open the following week, preferring to focus her training on the grass-court season.
The Nottingham event, which starts on June 8, is the first WTA Tour match of the British grass-court swing before Wimbledon begins on July 1.
In 2021, Raducanu made her debut in Nottingham and lost to her fellow countrywoman, Harriet Dart. Two years later, she was forced to withdraw from her first-round match against Viktorija Golubic because of an injury she had received after just seven games.
British player Katie Boulter, who won her maiden WTA Tour event in Nottingham in 2023, is one of the entrants.
Among the other contestants in Nottingham are Sofia Kenin of the United States, world No. 9 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia, and Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic, who won the 2020 Australian Open.
