Sad news: Kirby Smart, head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, just announced that QB Jared Curtis is no longer due to…
Christian quarterback Jared Curtis, t top-ranked prospect in the 2026 college football recruiting class, has committed to Tennessee’s Nashville, Georgia, according to his mother, who talked with 247Sports. The family is going back to Athens this weekend to see head coach Kirby Smart ahend his staff.
Barbara Curtis said, “Coach Kirby was just told.” “We are unable to contain our smiles.”
Curtis chose Georgia over Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and South Carolina, among other states.
“Just the way all their coaching staff is together and how they are helpful to one another, and I know they’re settled and not going anywhere,” according to Curtis, is what immediately stands out.
He has previously made several early trips to the UGA campus.
Two people he’s grown close to are Montgomery VanGorder and Mike Bobo.
“Just the way they’ll develop me as a person and player and the people around me will always help me get to the next level,” Curtis had previously said.
Below is a summary of Andrew Ivins’ evaluation of Curtis from August of last year, which is directed for 247Sports’ scouting department:
“A quarterback prospect with moxie and tremendous arms. started off as a running back in football before getting assessed for a position at center. Has a propensity to connect on numerous vertical shots and is capable of hitting long balls with ease. Additionally, he has remarkable timing when hitting breakaway routes over the middle.
“He can’t be regarded as a true dual-treat player, but he can manipulate the chains with his legs and veer off course when the pocket opens up. The camp footage exhibits both tempo and touch.
“At the beginning of the 2026 cycle, he seems to be among the greatest signal-callers, but he needs to keep getting better and develop his ability to read the complex defenses he will face at the next level. Considering his wide range of abilities, he should be successful in several offensive schemes.
Curtis began his high school career with two stellar seasons. He threw for 2,522 yards and 25 touchdowns against just nine interceptions as a junior, adding 543 yards and 13 scores by running.
