The Dallas Mavericks succumbed to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals last month, indicating they are a team to watch but not talented enough to win a title just yet. But would their luck have altered had they previously signed Klay Thompson?
That is what Skip Bayless thinks and he shared his opinion on the latest episode of “The Skip Bayless Show.” On the show, Bayless said that Thompson would have given the Mavericks an extra boost that could have helped them defeat the Celtics and win a championship. Will Thompson be able to prove Bayless right next season?
It was noteworthy, as Bayless pointed out, that Thompson laughed at the thought of joining the Los Angeles Lakers.
He continued by saying that the former star of the Golden State Warriors has never been as impressed by LeBron James as others have been, and it could have affected his decision.
Thompson decided to join Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in Dallas, despite the fact that his father still has close ties with the Lakers.
He is now going to give it everything he has to help them win their first championship in a long time.
According to Bayless, Thompson may be highly erratic, and it can be painful when he is inconsistent.
However, he said that Thompson had the opportunity to dish out some significant three-pointers while the Mavericks were down and both Irving and Doncic were having trouble shooting.
The team’s supporters are excited to see if Thompson can accomplish it in the upcoming campaign.
Thompson won’t be a big asset to the Mavericks if he performs as he did the previous season.
However, he has the ability to lead Dallas to the NBA promised land if he plays like the four-time champion that he is.
