Just … how? How on earth do you make this mistake?

The New York Yankees faced the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday in a Fourth of July match, and things went disastrously for the Yankees.

Cincinnati quickly took a 2-0 lead with home runs from second baseman Jonathan India and right fielder Nick Martini. In the fifth inning, left fielder Spencer Steer hit a three-run homer, pushing the Reds’ lead to 5-0. All of these home runs were given up by New York’s starting pitcher, Marcus Stroman, a tough break for him!

The Yankees tried to rally, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth with homers from first baseman Ben Rice and catcher Austin Wells. Right fielder Juan Soto also hit a home run in the seventh, but the Reds remained firmly in control of the game.

Whoa… And to think this guy gets paid a hell of a lot to not screw up like this.
