Breaking News: Tennessee 4-star DB now commits to Georgia over Florida

On his last official visit, Georgia hosted the talented defensive recruit, who on Monday announced his commitment to the Bulldogs.

It’s been a day of consecutive good news for Georgia, particularly for Donte Williams.

On Monday afternoon, 4-star safety Jaylan Morgan from Rockvale, Tennessee, announced his college decision. The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back chose Georgia over Florida, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Morgan had visited Georgia for his final official visit from June 21-23.

During that visit, he informed the Georgia coaches of his intention to join the Bulldogs.

“When I visited, it felt like home,” Morgan told Dawgs247. “I connected well with the coaches. Being around the players made me realize they are the kind of people I want to be with every day.”

During his late June official visit, Morgan spent most of his time with player-host Ondre Evans. His lead recruiter, Williams, along with co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson, led the way on the coaching side. The three of them had an in-depth film session and defensive roster breakdown, which gave Morgan a much clearer path to playing time in Athens than he had previously anticipated.

Morgan mentioned that Georgia hasn’t given him any guarantees, but the opportunity is there.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to play. I’m not saying I’ll play early or anything. They didn’t give me any promises, but there’s a pretty good chance I can play early,” Morgan said. “But I really just want to play football, and Georgia seems like the best place for me to do it.”
