Breaking: San Antonio Spurs linked to 45% 3FG shooter to help Victor Wembanyama

There are plenty of reasons for San Antonio Spurs fans to be excited about the upcoming season. Although a playoff run might not be in the cards for Victor Wembanyama’s second season with the team, the offseason moves have certainly piqued the curiosity of even the most casual fans about how the new-look Spurs will perform.

The highlight of the Spurs’ offseason is the acquisition of Chris Paul. While some speculate that Paul’s motivations for joining the team extend beyond chasing a championship, his presence is undeniably a significant upgrade for the Spurs’ lineup.

Another major signing is Harrison Barnes. The former Sacramento King has proven himself as a reliable forward, and his willingness to waive his no-trade clause demonstrates his enthusiasm to join the organization.

Despite these additions, the Spurs still need more pieces to become a formidable threat in the league. This has led to an intriguing trade rumor that will surely captivate Spurs fans.

Analyst tipped Luke Kennard to be a target for the San Antonio Spurs

Tyler Watts of Air Alamo recently highlighted potential targets for the San Antonio Spurs using the mid-level exception, and one notable player he mentioned is Luke Kennard.

Watts emphasized the need for a three-point specialist alongside players like Harrison Barnes, noting that while Barnes is a solid three-point shooter, the team could benefit from someone who poses a threat from anywhere beyond the arc.

Kennard fits this role perfectly as one of the league’s premier marksmen. He boasts a career 43.9 percent shooting average from three-point range and has led the NBA in this category twice. Despite being limited to 39 games last season due to injury, Kennard still maintained an impressive 45.0 percent accuracy on over six three-point attempts per game. Now healthy and eager to contribute to a contender, Kennard could significantly bolster the Spurs’ roster.

If the Spurs successfully acquire Kennard, it could elevate their competitiveness against top teams in the league and potentially position them for a playoff run, which would undoubtedly be a daunting prospect for the rest of the Western Conference.
